What beautiful color! Those who appreciate maroons know how rare this color is, and that it is connected to black genetically. Ginger Ale is a perfect addition for breeding programs aimed at the darker colors. Her fiber is quite fine for a dark alpaca (AFD 21 microns in 2007 and 20.3 microns in 2008), with even crimp and excellent coverage. She stands tall and straight, with a good bite.
Ginger's first cria, Samba, was born without assistance in Fall 2008. Ginger showed perfect maternal instinct and is a great mom. Samba is a beautiful girl and we have decided to keep her in our breeding program, so we offer Ginger for sale.
We chose to leave Ginger open until summer 2009 in order to safely move her and the rest of our herd to central Montana. She sells bred to the four-times black color champion male, Crescent Moon's Nitro. Nitro is a superb male with an amazing phenotype and very fine fiber. There is a strong possibility of a show quality black cria from this pairing!
